Veteran's Group Acupuncture Clinic — FREE!
This free clinic is for Veterans and members of their household. ITEA serves veterans of all wars, and others in their household. The clinic is associated with the Military Stress Recovery Project of Acupuncturists Without Borders. Treatments are based on National Acupuncture Detoxification
Association (NADA) ear protocol, proven to be extremely powerful in alleviating symptoms of stress and trauma. During treatment people sit fully clothed and an ITEA clinical level acupuncture student places five tiny needles on each ear. The recipients are invited to close their eyes and rest for 30 to 40 minutes while the acupuncture does its work. Past participants have experienced benefits such as a full night's sleep for the first time in years, and fewer bad dreams. They have also reported improved mental clarity, less anxiety and a reduction in stress.
Acupuncture is currently being investigated by the Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. as a viable modality for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in returning veterans, and the military has started using acupuncture in the battlefield to help with pain. Cost: FREE
